Premier League Week 2 Predictions

The first week of action has come and gone for the premier league and needless to say this season will be action packed every week. Nearly every game there was a new storyline from Huddersfield Town’s monumental upset over Crystal Palace to Burnley’s underdog performance against Chelsea. As we get set for the second week of play, Just The PHacts are going to highlight this week’s big fixtures and give you a winner.

Manchester United @ Swansea City 7:30 AM ET

The Red Devils are flying high going into this weeks match after beating West Ham 4-0 in their last fixture. The entire Man U squad played well from Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba dominating play in the midfield to Eric Bailly and Phil Jones controlling the West Ham forwards on defense. Being away, Swansea presents a bigger challenge but expect young Marcus Rashford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to find the back of the net in route to a United victory.

Predicted Final: 2-1 Manchester United

Crystal Palace @Liverpool 10:00 AM ET

Both teams are looking to get different results than last week. Liverpool showed signs of greatness but ultimately, a lack of defending led to a tie against a scrappy Watford team. They will need to keep their shape in the back if they want to get three points this week. As for the eagles, Crystal Palace needs to improve every aspect of play. Their midfield and defense were constantly turning over the ball giving the forwards little to no chances to score. Liverpool will win in front of their home crowd handing CP their second consecutive defeat.

Predicted Final: 1-0 Liverpool

Arsenal @ Stoke City 12:30 PM ET

The gunners are coming off a big win at home against the foxes of Leicester City. They’ll need to sharpen up in the back if they want to win this week against a hungry Stoke team. With Stoke hosting Arsenal this week, look for Xherdan Shaqiri to grab a goal and an assist as Stoke blows past the visiting gunners.

Predicted Final: 2-0 Stoke City

Chelsea @ Tottenham 11:00 AM ET Sunday

Chelsea will be looking to bounce back after getting embarrassed at home against a rather mediocre Burnley side. Without Cahill, both David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger will need to step up for Chelsea in the back. Tottenham need to get Harry Kane on the score sheet after missing a world class chance last week. Chelsea will find a way to return to championship form beating Tottenham on the road.

Predicted Final 3-1 Chelsea

Everton @ Manchester City 3:00 PM Monday

Both teams looking to make it a second week in a row with three points. Everton had a big win over visiting Stoke as Rooney proved age is but a number and Man City dominated Brighton leading to a 2-0 victory. Both Jesus and Aguero will need to be on the same page if City wants to get the result they are looking for. Ultimately Pep Guardiola’s side will be too much for Everton, especially at home.

Predicted Final: 2-0 Manchester City
