Jefferson’s Weekly Best Bets 12/25

NFL:

Oakland Raiders @ Philadelphia Eagles 8:30 12/25 48.5

Last week we saw Nick Foles is capable of replacing Carson Wentz and leading Philadelphia’s offense. Look for him to have another big game against a dismal Raiders defense. Expect a better performance from the Philadelphia secondary but the Raiders should be able to put a few points on the board but not enough, I’ll take the under.

New Orleans Saints (-9) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4:25 12/31

The Saints proved last week they’re defense was just as strong as their offense. Marshon Lattimore is one of the best corners in the game, as a rookie. The Saints offense did it’s thing and expect more of the same as they go on the road in the final game of the season with the second bye still in the balance, I’ll take the Saints on the road.

Cincinnati Bengals @ Baltimore Ravens 4:25 40.5

Nothing would make Marvin Lewis’ last game with the Bengals sweeter than spoiling the Ravens chances at a 2018 postseason appearance. Neither teams have very strong defenses with aging vets such as Eric Weddle and Terrell Suggs for the Ravens and Dre Kirkparickt and Geno Atkins for the Bengals. It’s safe to say both teams will have no trouble finding the end zone, I’ll take the over.

NCAA FB Bowl Games:

Cactus Bowl: Kansas State (-3) vs. UCLA 9:00 PM 12/26

This will be Chip Kelly’s debut with the Bruins and Josh Rosen but as we’ve seen from Kelly’s past, he needs a mobile quarterback to be successful and although Josh Rosen is very talented, Rosen will only have a week to learn Kelly’s new play style, expect the veteran Wildcats to route the Bruins, I’ll take KSU.

Fiesta Bowl: Penn State (-4.5) vs. Washington Huskies 4:00 12/30

This game should be the last hoorah for arguably the most talented team in Penn State history. While the Huskies are a strong side and should give Penn State a run for the money, QB/RB duo of Trace McSorely and Saquon Barkely will be too much to handle for Washington, I’ll take the nittany lions.

TaxSlayer Bowl: Louisville (-5) vs. Mississippi State 12:00 12/30

Lamar Jackson is expected to declare for the NFL Draft which would make this game the 2016 Heisman winner’s last college football game. Expect him to completely dominate the Bulldogs and cover the spread, I’ll take the Cardinals.

NBA:

Indiana Pacers @ Detroit Pistons (-2) 7:05 12/26

The Pacers have been playing surprisingly well this season after shedding their franchise forward Paul George. I like Indiana to keep it close or even blow out the Pistons on the road making it their third win in a row. The Pacers are also the 7th top scoring NBA team in the league and should be able to get up good shots from mid range and beyond the arc with Drummond protecting the rim, I’ll take the Pacers.

Premier League:

Brighton & Hove Albion @ Chelsea 10:00 AM 12/26 2.5u

Expect Chelsea to completely dominate Brighton, at home with a relatively fresh lineup and strong forward combination of Alvaro Morata, Eden Hazard, and Willian/Pedro. This game will definitely have more than 2 goals scored between the two sides, I’ll take the over.
