AFC South Preview 2018

Last Season:

Jacksonville Jaguars: 10-6

Tennessee Titans: 9-7

Indianapolis Colts: 4-12

Houston Texans: 4-12

2018 Season Outlook:

Houston Texans: This is the most competitive division in the entire league and the Texans are expected to have a very strong season. Deshaun Watson is blossoming into a solid option for Houston at QB. Last season, his year was cut short by a torn ACL but is expected to come back better than ever. With a good receiving core lead by DeAndre Hopkins who is a top 5 talent in the league. The biggest thing holding back the Texans is staying healthy. Every key player for the Texans this season will be coming of an injury. I like the Texans a lot, if they can stay on the field.

Indianapolis Colts: The biggest reason the Colts are moving up in this division is because of Andrew Luck. Luck is a game changer that immediately turns their average offense into a dynamic run pass option threat. Defensively, they’re the best passing defense team in the league. With Andrew Luck coming back, the Colts have a really high ceiling and are poised to have a very successful season.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Despite having one of the best defensives in the entire league, the Jaguars achilles heal happens to be their quarterback, Blake Bortles. Sports Illustrated called Bortles one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL. Although, their secondary, lead by Jalen Ramsey, is one of the most shut down groups in the league. This team is really a tale of two sides as the defense is dominate and the offense is abysmal.

Tennessee Titans: Without question this team had a great year last season as they defeated the Chiefs in their wildcard playoff matchup. One of the biggest reasons that this team will take a step back is the running backs. Losing Demarco Murray creates a huge hole in that position. Derek Henry and Dion Lewis provide some aid but ultimately they’ll struggle to take the pressure of the passing game. Marcus Mariota is a viable option at QB who has proven to be clutch over his few seasons in the league.

2018 Predicted Standings:

Houston Texans: 11-5

Indianapolis Colts: 10-6

Jacksonville Jaguars: 8-8

Tennessee Titans: 7-9
