What’s up JTP fans? We’re now implementing a new blog series where we take games and give you a quick synopsis and who we think will ultimately win the game for the on the go sports fans. First on our list is evaluating the CFP New Year’s Six Bowls.
Peach Bowl– No. 7 Michigan(-7.5) vs. No. 10 Florida
Winner: Michigan 17-13
Both great defensive teams that have talented QB’s that can put points on the board. However, expect a lot of turnovers and a defensive slugfest that will come down to one or two plays.
Fiesta Bowl– No. 11 LSU(-10) vs. No. 8 UCF
Winner: LSU 27-13
With an injury to star QB McKenzie Milton its hard to see the Knights offense being able to put points up against a stout LSU defense. Expect LSU to dominate this game handedly.
Rose Bowl– No. 6 Ohio State(-4) vs. No. 9 Washington
Winner: OSU 42-28
This being Urban Meyer’s last game as a Buckeye head coach with add extra emotion and motivation to this OSU squad. I expect them to dominate both sides of the ball and handedly beat a somewhat underwhelming Washington team.
Sugar Bowl– No. 5 Georgia(-11.5) vs. No. 15 Texas
Winner: Georgia 27-10
After a close loss in the SEC championship game to Alabama, it is very clear Georgia has one of the most talented rosters in the country. Texas is a year away in my opinion and I think they will be in a little over their heads in this game. I have the Dawgs winning big.
Cotton Bowl– No. 2 Clemson(-10.5) vs. No. 3 Notre Dame
Winner: Clemson 27-24
Ian Book is an extremely underrated quarterback that pairs nicely with a turnover inducing Notre Dame defense but Clemson is just too talented on both sides of the ball. Their athleticism will win them this game.
Orange Bowl– No. 1 Alabama(-14.5) vs. No. 4 Oklahoma
Winner: Alabama 42-34
Alabama showed this past Saturday that they can be beaten but not by an Oklahoma team that has one of the worst defenses of any recent college football playoff contender. However, Kyler Murray is the type of QB to give Alabama fits but they are just too athletic and disciplined on both sides of the ball to lose this game.
