Ranking the All-Time Spider-Man Movies

Stepping away from sports, because JTP is ,in fact, a sports and culture blog, we will be ranking the all time best Spider-Man movies

1.) Spider-Man: Homecoming

I don’t care what people say but Tom Holland is the best incarnation of Spider-Man. Period. He portrays the character so accurately(age and even using a Queens accent) but still puts his own spin on it. His acting alone makes this the best Spider-Man movie.

2.) Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2 had the best villain of any of these movies which is rare because Marvel usually doesn’t execute villains well, but Doc Oc really shines in this film and the ending scene really humanizes him in a way that other superhero movies fail to do.

3.) Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

This movie was all-around awesome. Every detail was perfect and essential to the overarching storyline, making the viewer on the edge of their seat the entire time. The only reason this is docked a few spots is because it doesn’t fit into a larger, more expansive story arch like all the other movies do.

4.) The Amazing Spiderman

Our first introduction to Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man was relatively successful as Garfield embodied not only the nerdy, anti-social side of the Peter Parker heavily portrayed by Toby Maguire, but he also retained the element of Spider-Man’s quick wit in battle that Maguire didn’t really meet the mark on.

5.) Spider-Man

The first real Spider-Man film made an immediate impact on the pop culture world because this was the first really well done superhero film at a time when the comic book world was dying.

6.) The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The bottom two on this list was really a coin flip on who takes the cake as the worst Spider-Man movie. Although the relationship dynamic between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy was really well done in this film, basically everything else missed the mark on a film that had high expectations coming off a successful first Amazing Spider-Man film.

7.) Spider-Man 3

Emo Peter Parker. That’s really all I need to say. But in addition to that, the selection of Topher Grace as Venom was a mistake as was essentially the entire plot of this movie. Therefore, it is an easy choice as the worst Spider-Man film.
