With the college football season right around the corner, it is only right to predict how the season will conclude by picking the CFP final four.
1.) Florida State
Florida State is one of college football’s perenial programs that have a huge recruiting stream available to them in south Florida. Their talent rich roster should propel them to the number one playoff seed. They have an immovable defense and a solid quarterback in DeAndre Francois that can easily dissect opposing defenses. Florida State will upset Alabama the first game of the season and remain undefeated for the rest of the year.
2.) Ohio State
The Buckeyes bring in the nations number one recruiting class along with plenty of returning starters for the 2017 season. The favorable combination of an easier schedule than last year and great quarterback play by senior J.T. Barrett should have the Buckeyes finishing at the number two spot.
3.) USC
Sam Darnold is undoubtedly the best quarterback in college football and the likely heisman trophy winner. As a result, his impeccable play should bring success for the USC Trojans. The Trojans have a perfect balance of out of conference and in conference difficulty which should build an impressive resume to show the voters. Although they lost some key starters on the offensive line, the depth of talent at the skill postions will put the Trojans in the playoff
4.) Alabama
Because of Alabama’s eventual early season loss to Florida State, Their position in the playoff will dip a little. But, don’t let that fool you; Nick Saban is still at the peaks of his powers and young offensive weapons like Bo Scarborough and Jalen Hurts should bring success. However, Alabama has lost key players in the offensive and defensive trenches which may slightly diminish their usual identity of hard-nosed defensive football for this season, but don’t count the tide out.
